One of my favorite videos. Something to think about as we go into the busy times of the holiday season. Let me know your thoughts.
What a wonderful Community Thanksgiving service last night! Pastor Luigi Perez from Bloomville Methodist Church delivered an inspiring message reminding us that every day is a day for Thanksgiving to God because every day the Lord is with us in both our times of joy and our times of sorrow.....the Lord is with us How true those words are! So in the spirit of living out Pastor Perez's message, I give thanks. Today I am thankful for the call to Ministry the Lord has blessed me with and I am thankful for the opportunity to be the Pastor of such a wonderful community of faith at Republic UCC. I am thankful I am able to be by my husband's side each day, I am thankful for my family and I am thankful for the blessings of food and shelter. I am also thankful that, although it is never enough, I am able in some way to give to others.
May you all have a very blessed Thanksgiving and may the peace and love of Christ be with you all. Pastor Darla Was our God Still Speaking today? I think so! God was speaking to us through our wonderful community of faithful servants in worship and fellowship before and after the service. The blessings we received today were numerous!! God bless Van for providing a tasty snack before worship,God bless all who worked so hard to make the pork tenderloin meal a success (a sold out meal I might add), God bless all who walked through the open doors and worshiped our Lord this morning, and God bless those who were in the fields as they harvest their crops, those who are ill, and those named and unnamed who were unable to be with us this morning. There are good things happening at Republic UCC. "Never put a period where God put a comma". God is Still Speaking to us here and now. Can you hear it? Shhhhh,,,,,,listen,,,,,,,,look,,,,,,,,feel,,,,,,,,love, compassion, justice, kindness,,,,,,,keep listening,,,,,,,God is with us always.
"People were also bringing babies to Jesus. They wanted him to touch them. When the disciples saw this, they told the people to stop. But Jesus asked the children to come to him. "Let the little children come to me," he said. "Don't keep them away. God's kingdom belongs to people like them."
The doors of the church were open with an extravagent welcome to Republic's little trick or treaters! As the children and their parents came to the doors of the church dressed in their best Halloween costume they were welcomed, given an invitation to worship and Sunday school and were treated to cider and donuts, hot coffee and what would trick or treat be without candy! There was fellowship and fun galore as we rang the church bell and enjoyed the beautiful crisp air of fall with the community. God blessed us with wonderful weather and the smiles and laughter of little children. For more pictures of the fun and fellowship click on the Multimedia tab above. |
